Tyco Fire & Security Smoke Detectors
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Tyco Fire & Security is recalling smoke detectors installed in commercial buildings throughout the U.S. after August 1, 2004. These detectors could experience reduced sensitivity to smoke when conditions involve both high humidity and high temperature, which could cause them to delay detecting smoke during a fire. The recall affects specific model numbers including various 4098, 430, ADT, and T360 series detectors.
Commercial building owners and managers with recalled smoke detectors will be contacted by one of the distributors. Once contacted, they can verify whether their detectors are included in the recall and arrange for a free replacement.
