Ameristep is recalling two models of hanging tree stands due to a defect in the j-hook attachment of the tree strap that can cause the stand to collapse. The affected products are the Ameristep Patriot Hang-On Tree Stand (model 7300, UPC 769524703001) and the Outfitter Hang-On Tree Stand (model 7310, UPC 769524703100). If a tree stand collapses while in use, consumers could fall and suffer serious injuries or death.
If you own one of these tree stands, contact Ameristep Customer Service Department to receive a free repair kit. The kit includes a bracket system and double hook tree strap, along with installation instructions. The model number and UPC can be found on the product's original packaging.
