ALL-PRO, "Reddy Heater" and "MASTER" Infrared (Tank Top) Propane Heaters

DESA Heating Products and Scheu Manufacturing Co. are recalling portable propane infrared tank-top heaters due to a defect in the plastic ring on the heater's regulator. The ring can crack, allowing gas to leak if the propane tank and heater regulator are turned on. If an ignition source is nearby, this gas leak can create a fire hazard. The recall affects All-Pro (models SPC-15R and SPC-30R), Reddy Heater (models HD15A and HD30A), and MASTER (models TT15A and TT30A) heaters that were made in China. Affected units have serial numbers between 016,000,000 and 016,159,999 for Reddy, All-Pro, and Master heaters, or serial numbers with "C" or "D" prefixes for All-Pro heaters. The heater model and serial number can be found on the carton and on the heater itself, and the carton and warning label will display "Made in China."
Because the manufacturing firms are out of business, no remedy is available. Consumers with an affected heater should stop using it immediately and discard the product. The recall does not apply to heaters marked "Made in Mexico" on the carton and warning label, as those units use an "M" serial number prefix and have not experienced problems.

Consumers should stop using this heater immediately. The firm is out of business. A remedy is no longer available. Consumers should discard the product.
DESA and Scheu portable propane infrared (tank top) heaters with the following model names and number are involved in this recall: All-Pro (SPC-15R & SPC-30R), Reddy Heater (HD15A & HD30A) and MASTER (TT15A & TT30A). Reddy, ALL-PRO and Master Heaters imported by DESA have serial numbers between 016,000,000 and 016,159,999. All-Pro heaters imported by Scheu have serial numbers beginning with a "C" or "D" prefix. The model and serial numbers are on the carton and on the heater. The designation "Made in China" is on the carton and warning label attached to the heater. This recall involves only heaters made in China with the serial numbers listed above and does not include those made in Mexico or in China with different serial numbers. The heaters made in Mexico have the same or similar model numbers, but show "Made in Mexico" on the carton and warning label and use the prefix "M" in the serial number. There have been no problems with the Mexican heaters and they are not to be returned.
