Meco Corp. is recalling red folding chairs with metal frames and vinyl padded seat backs and bases that were sold as part of five-piece juvenile table furniture sets. The red paint on these chairs contains excessive lead levels that pose a lead poisoning hazard to young children. Only red chairs with model numbers 11-88-3E1 or 11-88S3E1 and date codes H3, B4, D4, or E4 printed underneath the seat bottom are affected, and these chairs will have either "Meco" or "Samsonite" brand names printed on the seat label.
Consumers who have one of the recalled red chairs should stop using it immediately and contact Meco Corp. for instructions on how to return the chair and receive a free replacement.
