What happened

Oki Data Americas Inc. is recalling certain fax machines due to a mechanical malfunction that could pose a shock hazard to users. The recall affects the OKIFAX 5780, 5980, and 5980DL models, as well as the Konica 9880 model, with serial numbers beginning with 3110A, 311A, 312A, 401A, or 402A. You can find the model number on the top right of the front of the unit and the serial number on a black and white bar code label on the back of the unit at the bottom of the case.

If you own one of these recalled fax machines, you should stop using it immediately and unplug the unit. Contact the company for a free repair of your machine.
