What happened

CFM Corporation and the CPSC have announced a recall of Majestic Vermont Castings fireplace remote receivers sold with several electric fireplace and stove models, including the HES40R, HES40, CFM DEF33/36, DEF36S2, Addision, DEF26, and HE32EF. The recalled remote receivers have "Majestic Vermont Castings" printed on a label on the front and model number ERX15 B listed on the CSA approval sticker on the back. The circuit board in these receivers can overheat and catch fire, creating a burn and fire hazard.

Since CFM Corporation is no longer in business, no remedy is currently available for affected consumers according to the recall notice.
