What happened

Black & Decker is recalling 18-volt cordless drill/drivers due to a switch malfunction that can cause overheating and create a fire hazard. The affected drills are orange or jade colored with "Black & Decker" printed on the body and include model numbers CD1800, PS3700, PS3725, and PS3750 with specific date codes manufactured in China. You can identify the model number on the nameplate on the side of the drill and the date code on the bottom of the handle where the battery inserts.

If you own one of these recalled drills, you should stop using it immediately and remove the battery. Contact Black & Decker to receive a free repair of your drill/driver.

The drill/drivers have the following model numbers and date codes: Model Number Date Codes Color CD1800 20011952 through 20020652 Orange PS3700 973652 through 983052 Jade PS3725 20003852 through 20013652 Jade PS3750 20002454 through 20005252 Jade The model number is printed on the nameplate on the side of the drill and the date code is printed on the bottom of the handle where the battery is inserted (remove the battery to locate date code). The recalled units were manufactured in China. No other models or date codes are affected by this recall to repair.
