What happened

Carlisle Co. has recalled Snake Lights due to a hazard where the circuit board can overheat and melt the plastic housing, creating a risk of fire or thermal burns. The affected lights are model number 8311, made in China, and come in blue, red, green, or multi-colored varieties. They stand approximately 17 inches tall and feature a curved colored glass bulb that inserts into a black base. When powered on, the lights create a "lightning" effect through the lamp, and "Snake Light" is printed on the bottom of the unit.

According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately stop using the lights and unplug them. The source specifies that consumers should return the lights to any Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in exchange for a replacement prize of equal value.
