Dehumidifier
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and W.C. Wood Company have recalled Wood's model WMD40W and Edison model EMD40 40-pint capacity dehumidifiers. These units, sold in white (Wood's brand) or beige (Edison brand) plastic, have internal wiring that can abrade against metal parts, which could cause electric shock if the insulation wears through. The recalled dehumidifiers have serial numbers ranging from 08603098 to 08822606 for Wood's models and 08669467 to 08669490 for Edison models, which can be found on a label behind the removable water bucket.
Since W.C. Wood Company is out of business and no remedy is available, the CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled dehumidifiers immediately and destroy and discard them.
