Gas-fired boilers
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
ECR International, in conjunction with the CPSC, is recalling gas boilers sold under the brand names Dunkirk, Sears Kenmore, Bryant, Carrier, Payne, Lennox, and Pennco. The boilers pose a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning because their burners could produce excess carbon monoxide in the flue due to improper combustion. Specific model and serial numbers are affected; consumers can identify their boiler's model and serial number on the data plate located on the right side of the unit.
To determine if your boiler is affected, check whether your model and serial number match those listed in the recall. If your boiler is included, you should contact ECR International immediately to arrange for a free repair. The CPSC also recommends that every home have at least one carbon monoxide alarm that meets the requirements of the most recent Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 2034 standard, International Approval Services 6-96 standard, or Canadian Standards Association 6.19-01 standard.
