Electric showerhead hot water heaters
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Eugenio Serafin Inc. is recalling electric showerhead hot water heaters sold in Puerto Rico under the brand names Corona, Corona Maxi, and Fammy. These devices are attached to shower water supply piping and connected to household electrical supplies. The nozzle can be easily unscrewed, exposing an uninsulated heater coil, and the heater coil's grounding screw does not sufficiently reduce electrical current through the water. This creates an electrocution and shock hazard to users bathing with the device.
The recalled showerhead hot water heaters are packaged in clear plastic bags with cards reading "ducha," "HECHO EN VENEZUELA POR: TECHNI," and "MIRANDA, VENEZUELA." Consumers who own these products should stop using them immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
