Hunter Fan Co. has recalled certain CareFree humidifier models because their motors can overheat, creating a fire hazard. The recall affects model numbers 32500, 33300, 33330, and 33350 with specific date codes found on a label on the back of the motor/switch housing. The affected units have date codes ranging from 15200 through 36500, 00101 through 36501, or 00102 through 06002.
Consumers who own these humidifiers should stop using them immediately and unplug them. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should call Hunter Fan Co. to arrange for either a free replacement part or a refund.
