Hunter Fan is recalling Warm Mist CareFree humidifiers in white and black models with blue or green tinted water tanks because water can leak into the unit's electrical compartment, creating a fire hazard. The recalled humidifiers have "Hunter" and "NiteGlo" printed on them and come in 2-gallon and 2.5-gallon sizes. Model numbers 36200, 35201, 36201, 35202, 36204, 35203, 36203, 37203, 35207, 36207, 35253, and 36253 are affected. The model number can be found on a white label on the bottom of each unit.
Consumers who have one of these humidifiers should immediately stop using it and unplug it from the wall. To receive a remedy, consumers should contact Hunter Fan for either a free replacement humidifier or a refund.
