The Consumer Product Safety Commission and L. Powell Co. are recalling "Nostalgic Oak" Bentwood Glider Rockers with model numbers 139K, 139L, 144K, and 144L that were sold after November 1999. These rockers were manufactured with soft wood and nails instead of wood screws in the gliding joints, which can cause the rockers to break apart and occupants to fall to the floor. You can identify the recalled models by checking the model number on the packaging; the chair will also have a "Powell" and "Taiwan" label on the underside along with a white factory code sticker reading "TZ."
Consumers should immediately stop using the affected glider rockers. According to the recall notice, consumers should contact L. Powell to receive a free repair kit to stabilize the rocker. Consumers were sent direct notification of this recall.
