Ariens Recalls Snow Throwers and Power Brushes Due to Amputation and Laceration Hazards

Is my product affected?

Ariens and Sno-Tek Snow Throwers, Ariens and Gravely All-Season Power Brushes

  • Brand Ariens Company, of Brillion, Wisc.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Ariens is recalling certain snow throwers and power brushes because a drive pulley can crack during use, causing the auger, impeller, or brush to keep spinning even after the operator releases the clutch lever. This creates a risk of amputation and laceration injuries. The recall affects Ariens and Sno-Tek brand snow throwers (Ariens Compact and Compact Track models in orange, 22-24 inches wide; Sno-Tek models in black, 20-28 inches wide) and Ariens and Gravely brand power brushes (Ariens PB-28 All Season Brush and Ariens 28-inch CE brush in orange; Gravely PB-28 All Season Brush in red). Specific model and serial number ranges are affected, though units with a black check mark on the label are excluded.

Affected consumers should immediately stop using their recalled equipment and contact Ariens Company for a free repair. The recall also reminds consumers never to place their hands into the discharge chute.
