What happened

Briggs & Stratton is recalling Ariens Compact Snow Blowers due to a fire hazard. The carburetor bowl nut on these units can loosen and allow gasoline to escape, creating a dangerous condition. The recalled snow blower is 24 inches wide and orange with black coloring. It has model number 920014 with serial numbers between 100,000 and 119,039, which can be found on an Ariens-brand label on the lower back panel. The snow blower is powered by a Briggs & Stratton engine with model number 13D1370110 F1 and engine serial numbers ranging from 12053000000 through 12071699999. Engines that have a circular black marker dot on the right side of the engine base below the electric starter are not included in this recall, as they have already been inspected.

If you own one of these recalled snow blowers, you should immediately stop using it and return it to an authorized Briggs & Stratton dealer for repair.

Recalled products have the model number 920014 and serial numbers ranging from 100,000 through 119,039 that can be found on an Ariens-brand label on the lower back panel of the product with the warranty code. There is also a Briggs and Stratton engine model number 13D1370110 F1 labeled on the side of the engine with the serial number range from 12053000000 through 12071699999. Engines with a circular black marker dot located on the right side of the engine base, below the electric starter and just above the oil drain plug, have already been inspected and are not part of this recall.
