What happened

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Galoob Toys Inc. have announced a recall of Sky Dancers® flying dolls due to a hazard where the hard plastic dolls can fly rapidly in unpredictable directions and hit and injure both children and adults. The recalled dolls were sold in multiple styles including Pretty Lights Sky Dancers, Mini-Sky Dancers, and Fairy Flyers. These princess or ballerina-type dolls feature hair in a ponytail and stiff foam wing-covered arms that propel the doll when launched from a launcher. The launchers come in various shapes such as dolphins, flowers, moons, ponies, and sun and rainbow designs, with either handheld or tabletop bases and pull-cord mechanisms. The packaging is labeled with "Sky Dancers®," "galoob®," "MADE IN CHINA," "Ages 5 and Up Only," and "Not for children under 3 years."

According to the recall notice, consumers should stop using the flying dolls immediately and contact Galoob for instructions on returning the toy sets. Upon return, consumers will receive a product of equal value.
