Triaminic® Syrups and Theraflu Warming Relief® Syrups
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Novartis has recalled 24 types of Triaminic Syrups and Theraflu Warming Relief Syrups for coughs, colds, and fevers because their child-resistant caps can fail to function properly, allowing children to remove the caps while the tamper-evident seal remains in place. These products contain acetaminophen and diphenhydramine, which are required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act to have child-resistant packaging. If a child gains access to these products, unintentional ingestion could result in poisoning.
Consumers can identify affected products by checking the lot numbers on the bottom panel of the box and on the left side of the bottle label, or by viewing the complete product list at www.novartisOTC.com. The National Drug Code (NDC) number appears on the upper right corner of the Triaminic Syrups box front panel or the upper left corner of the Theraflu Warming Relief Syrups bottle. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Novartis for instructions on how to return it for a full refund.
