What happened

Kringles Toys and Gifts is recalling Nanospheres, a desk toy containing 231 small powerful magnets sold exclusively on Amazon.com. The product consists of individual magnets approximately 5mm in diameter packaged in a circular metal canister about 2.5 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches tall with a black and blue label. The magnets are silver, gold, or black in color.

If two or more of these magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues, potentially causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and death. Internal injuries from the magnets can also result in serious lifelong health effects. Affected consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact the company to arrange for return and a full refund.
