Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Dell and the CPSC have announced a recall of batteries sold with certain Dell notebook computers, including the Latitude CPiA, CPiR, CPtC, CPtS, CPtV, CPxH, and CPxJ models, as well as Inspiron 3700 and 3800 models. These batteries were also sold separately. The batteries can short circuit even when not in use, causing them to overheat, release smoke, and potentially catch fire.
The recalled batteries are marked with "DELL™" and "MADE IN JAPAN" on them and insert into the front-left and/or front-right of the computer. Each battery has an identification number on a white sticker. According to the record, affected consumers should contact Dell immediately to determine if their notebook computer battery is part of this recall. Consumers should have the battery's identification number available when contacting Dell.
