RockShox Inc. is recalling 2001 Judy TT, Judy TT Special, Jett, and Metro model front suspension bicycle forks with serial numbers beginning with "01." The compression rods inside these forks can break, which may cause riders to lose control of their bicycles, fall, and suffer serious injuries. The serial number can be found engraved on the back of the fork's crown or on a bar code sticker on the fork's lower leg. These forks were sold both as original equipment on various bicycle brands and models and as separate components.
According to the recall, affected consumers should stop riding bicycles with the recalled forks immediately and return them to the bicycle dealer where they were purchased for inspection and repair if needed.
