Tilt latches on Andersen 200 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Windows

Andersen Corporation and the CPSC are recalling tilt latches on the lower sash of Andersen 200 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Windows. The latches can unexpectedly open, which could cause the window to strike consumers or shattered glass to injure them. The affected windows have an Andersen "A/W" logo etched into the lower right corner of the glass, latches on both sides of the top of the lower sash, and a product label on the inside of the upper left corner of the window frame. This recall does not apply to Andersen Builder's Select or other Andersen products.
Consumers should immediately check that the latches are in the closed position and contact the Andersen WindowCare Solution Center to schedule a free in-home repair service. A technician will replace the latches at no cost. Parents should prevent children from operating the window until the latches have been replaced.
