What happened

Kids II is recalling Carter's Activity Butterflies due to a hazard involving the toy's antennae. The antennae contain wire that can pass through the fabric covering, potentially causing cuts and scratches to babies. The recalled toy is a green and purple stuffed butterfly with multi-colored wings that produces sounds when squeezed. It features stuffed stars on the ends of its 3-inch bendable antennae, each containing a squeaker and rattle, plus crinkle sounds on the lower wings and a mirror on one upper wing. The toy can be identified by model number 50052 on a tag behind one wing, with a date code ending in "00433," "00856," "01003," or "01148." Butterfly toys with shorter 1¾-inch antennae are not affected by this recall.

If you own an affected butterfly toy, you should take it away from babies immediately. According to the recall notice, consumers may return the toy to the store where it was purchased or contact Kids II to receive a free replacement butterfly toy.
