Volvo Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2009-2021 Volvo 9700 buses equipped with wheelchair lifts. The outer barrier of the lift may fail if a mobility device pushes against it with sufficient force, which could increase the risk of injury to a person using the lift. These vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for platform lift systems and installations.
Volvo Bus will reinforce the outer barrier with additional supports at no cost to owners. Owners who received notification letters in September 2021 or March 2022 should contact Volvo Bus customer service at 1-866-870-2046 to arrange the repair.
