2009 VOLVO BUS 9700; 2010 VOLVO BUS 9700
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Volvo Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2009-2010 model year 9700 motor coaches that were modified between January 11, 2012, and September 18, 2012, to provide wheelchair access. These modified buses have an insufficient number of emergency exit windows on the passenger side, which fails to meet federal safety standards for bus emergency exits and could delay occupants from leaving the bus during an emergency.
To address this safety issue, Volvo will install an additional emergency exit window on affected buses at no cost to owners. Owners of affected buses should contact Volvo at 1-800-528-6586 to arrange the installation. The recall began on January 16, 2014, and Volvo's recall number is SR13-92.
