2020 PIERCE IMPEL; 2020 PIERCE ENFORCER; 2020 PIERCE ARROW XT
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Pierce Manufacturing is recalling certain 2020 Arrow XT, Impel, and Enforcer firefighting vehicles equipped with battery-powered 3600 wireless remote controller units. These controllers are used to operate electric firefighting monitors that direct water streams and adjust spray patterns. The defect causes the controller's sleep mode to be disabled, which makes batteries drain faster than normal. This faster battery discharge may prevent the wireless remote controller from functioning, which could hinder firefighting efforts and increase the risk of injury.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Dealers will return the affected wireless remote controllers to Akron Brass for a free software update to remedy the issue. The recall began on February 22, 2021.
