Braun Industries is recalling certain 2019 and 2021 Crestline ambulance models (CCL150 Type III E-Series, CCL150 Type I F-Series, and CCL150 Type III G-Series) due to a defect in the seat belt system. Two of the eight fastening points for the patient compartment side-facing CPR seating position on the street-side of the vehicle may have threaded inserts installed too close to a mounting flange, resulting in improper crimping. This defect may cause partial or complete loss of effectiveness of the seat belt harness, increasing the risk of injury to occupants in that seated position during a crash.
Owners will be notified, and dealers will inspect both seat belt anchor points at no charge. If no defect is found, no further action is required. If the defect is present on one or both anchor points, the dealer will replace the defective insert(s) with nut plate(s) during the inspection, free of charge. The recall began on March 1, 2021. Affected consumers should contact Braun Ambulances customer service at 1-877-344-9990.
