Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2011-2016 model year vehicles including Fiesta, Fusion, Mustang, Escape, C-Max, Focus, Transit Connect, and Lincoln MKZ and MKC models. These vehicles were previously repaired under earlier recalls, but the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break, making it difficult to latch the doors or causing the driver or passenger to believe a door is securely closed when it is not. If a door is not securely latched, it could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
Ford will notify owners, and affected consumers can either have a dealer inspect and replace the side door latches if necessary at no charge, or inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 with questions. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020, and Ford's recall number is 20S30.
