Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2020-2021 model year vehicles, including the CLA250, GLE, GLS, and Maybach GLS600 models. The recalled vehicles have an instrument cluster software defect that may deactivate the illumination of interior switches (the switch bar, overhead control unit, and steering wheel) when the hazard lights are turned on and the ignition is off. This lack of illumination could make these switches harder to locate and operate, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
MBUSA will notify owners of the recall, which began on March 31, 2020. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software at no charge to owners. Affected owners should contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and reference recall number 2020030019 to schedule service.
