Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2020 model year vehicles including C-Class, E-Class, GLC-Class, and AMG GT models due to a defect in the Emergency Call System communication module. An electrical circuit inside the module may become damaged, which could cause an inaccurate vehicle location to be transmitted during emergency calls. This inaccuracy may delay emergency responders from reaching the vehicle, potentially increasing the risk of injury.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 to arrange service. MBUSA will notify owners and dealers will replace the communication module at no cost to the owner. The recall began on April 14, 2020. The recall number is 2020030016.
