What happened

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations is recalling certain Firestone Destination LE3 and Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tires in size 255/60R19 that may have a small pinhole in the upper sidewall. These tires can slowly leak air, and if the leak goes undetected, the continued loss of air may increase the risk of a vehicle crash. The affected tires have specific date codes: Firestone Destination LE3 tires with DOT codes 2420 through 2820, and Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tires with DOT codes 2820 through 3120.

Owners of affected tires will be notified by the company. Dealers will replace the recalled tires free of charge based on the tire's date code and press identification number. Affected owners should contact Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations customer service at 1-800-847-3272.

BATO will notify owners, and based on the date code and press identification number of the tire, dealers will replace the tires with a comparable replacement free of charge. Owners may contact BATO customer service at 1-800-847-3272.

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC (BATO) is recalling certain Firestone Destination LE3 255/60R19 tires with DOT codes 2420 through 2820 and Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus P255/60R19 tires with DOT codes 2820 through 3120. The recalled tires may have been manufactured with a small pinhole in the upper sidewall of the outboard side of the tire. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
