Transportation Collaborative, Inc. is recalling certain 2019-2020 TransTech CST and SST school buses equipped with Safe Fleet Prolo hatches because the roof hatch external handle may break during normal use due to a manufacturing issue. If the handle breaks, the hatch cannot be easily opened from outside the vehicle during an emergency, creating an injury risk. The vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for bus emergency exits.
To remedy the issue, Safe Fleet dealers will replace the outer handle at no charge. Transportation Collaborative began notifying owners on January 13, 2020. Affected consumers should contact Transportation Collaborative customer service at 1-845-988-0419.
