What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2020 Thomas Built Buses Minotour school buses built on GMC Savannah or Chevrolet Express chassis. These vehicles have a defect in the instrument panel cluster where the seatbelt warning light fails to illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is turned on. This means drivers may not receive the reminder to fasten their seatbelts, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

To remedy the issue, DTNA will notify owners, and GM dealers will reprogram the instrument panel cluster at no charge. The recall began October 3, 2019. Owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 (recall number FL-833) or GM customer service at 1-800-462-8782 to schedule the repair.
