Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2020 Thomas Built Buses Minotour school buses because the seatbelt-unfastened warning light fails to illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is turned to the "on" or "start" position. Without this warning reminder, drivers may forget to fasten their seatbelts, which increases the risk of injury in a crash. The vehicles do not meet federal safety requirements for occupant crash protection.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to arrange service. DTNA dealers will reprogram the instrument panel cluster at no charge to fix the problem. The recall began October 3, 2019, and the recall number is FL-833.

The seatbelt-unfastened warning light will not illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the "on" or "start" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
