Piaggio Group Americas is recalling certain 2013-2019 motorcycles including Moto Guzzi Audace 1400, Eldorado 1400, California 1400, MGX 21 Bagger, and Aprilia Mana 850, Dorsoduro 750, Dorsoduro 900, and Shiver 900 models. The front brake master cylinder may malfunction, causing the front brakes to drag or apply unexpectedly, which can slow down or stop the motorcycle completely without the rear brake light activating to warn following drivers.
This unexpected braking without warning to other drivers increases the risk of a crash. Piaggio will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the front brake master cylinder free of charge if necessary. The recall began August 16, 2019.
