Piaggio Group Americas is recalling certain 2012-2013 Moto Guzzi motorcycles due to a manufacturing fault in the rear suspension connecting links that could fracture. The affected models are the Stelvio NTX 1200 (manufactured February 6, 2012 through April 10, 2013), Norge 1200 (manufactured January 25, 2012 through March 21, 2013), and Griso 1200 (manufactured January 26, 2012 through April 29, 2013). If the rear suspension links fail while riding, the rear suspension would suddenly collapse, increasing the risk of a crash.
Piaggio will notify owners, and Moto Guzzi dealers will replace the rear suspension connecting links on affected vehicles at no charge. The recall began on August 12, 2013. Owners should contact Piaggio at 1-877-696-6864 to arrange the repair.
