Honda is recalling certain 2006-2015 model year vehicles including Acura TSX, Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Fit, Pilot, and several other models. The passenger frontal air bag inflator in these vehicles may explode due to propellant degradation from long-term exposure to high humidity and temperature changes, potentially sending sharp metal fragments toward occupants and causing serious injury or death.
Honda dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator free of charge. Owners should contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 to arrange service. The recall began August 12, 2019, and Honda's internal recall numbers are F5F and Q5E.
