Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Subaru is recalling certain 2014-2016 Forester, 2008-2016 Impreza sedans, 2012-2016 Impreza station wagons, 2008-2014 WRX sedans (including STI), and 2013-2017 Crosstrek vehicles because exposure to contaminants can cause the brake light switch to malfunction. When this happens, the brake lights may not illuminate to alert other drivers that the vehicle is slowing or stopping, which increases the risk of a crash. In some vehicles, the faulty switch can also prevent keyless ignition from working and prevent CVT or automatic transmissions from shifting out of Park.
Subaru will notify owners of affected vehicles, and Subaru dealers will replace the brake light switch at no cost. The recall began April 15, 2019. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 and reference recall number WUE-90 to have the repair performed.
