Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2019 model year vehicles including C300, C43 AMG, CLS450, CLS53 AMG, E450, E53 AMG, G550, and G63 AMG models. The Central Powertrain Controller (CPC) control unit could reset while driving, which could cause the engine to stall and increase the risk of a crash.
To remedy this issue, MBUSA will notify owners and dealers will update the CPC control unit software at no charge. The recall began April 12, 2019. Affected consumers should contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and reference recall number 2019030012 to have their vehicle serviced.
