What happened

BatteryJack Inc. is recalling certain DSR 808 motorcycle helmets in black, matte, AM, and AXL models, in medium, large, and extra-large sizes. These helmets may not provide adequate protection in a head impact during a motorcycle crash and may not be properly labeled, which means they do not meet federal safety standards for motorcycle helmets.

Affected owners should contact BatteryJack customer service at 1-815-467-6464. BatteryJack will provide owners with a full refund at no charge as part of the recall, which began on December 16, 2016.

BatteryJack Inc. (BatteryJack) is recalling certain DSR 808 Black, MatteAl, AM, and AXL adult motorcycle helmets, size medium, large, and extra large. These helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a motorcycle crash. Additionally, these helmets may not be properly labeled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
