What happened

RockyMounts, Inc. is recalling certain Split Rail 1.25" (part number 11300), MonoRail 2" (part number 10004), SplitRail 2" (part number 11400), and MonoRail 1.25" (part number 10003) bicycle racks. The weld connecting the hitch tube to the pivot bracket may crack and fail, causing the upper portion of the rack along with attached bicycles to separate from the vehicle and create a road hazard that could lead to crashes.

RockyMounts will notify owners and provide a replacement rack base at no charge. The recall began on March 8, 2018. Affected consumers should contact RockyMounts customer service at 1-303-402-0190.

Hazard

If a portion of the rack and the attached bicycles separate from the vehicle, they can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

(RockyMounts) is recalling certain Split Rail 1.25" bicycle racks, part number 11300, MonoRail 2" bicycle racks, part number 10004, SplitRail 2" bicycle racks, part number 11400, and MonoRail 1.25" bicycle racks, part number 10003.
