What happened

Chrysler is recalling certain 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles because the wiper motor software may incorrectly interpret the motor as overheating, which limits the windshield wipers to operate only at low speed. This reduced wiper function can limit driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash. The vehicles fail to meet federal safety standards for windshield wiping and washing systems.

To remedy this issue, Chrysler will notify owners and replace the wiper motor at no charge through authorized dealers. The recall began on April 25, 2018. Affected consumers should contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 with recall number U24.
