What happened

Supreme Corporation is recalling certain 2003-2018 Supreme Signature Van, Iner-City, Kold King, and Service Body trucks equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. In some models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and render the extinguisher inoperable. If a fire extinguisher does not function properly during a fire, it can increase the risk of injury.

According to the recall notice, affected owners should contact Kidde or Supreme to obtain a free replacement fire extinguisher. Owners can reach Supreme customer service at 1-800-352-4921 or Kidde customer service at 1-855-262-3540, or visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. A full list of affected fire extinguisher models is available at https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf. The recall began on May 7, 2018.
