What happened

Hyundai Translead is recalling certain 2017 Composite and HyCube trailers equipped with MPA/MTA suspensions and Meritor EX225 brakes because the brake caliper bolts may not be properly torqued. If the caliper bolts are improperly torqued, the caliper could detach from the mounting flange, resulting in a loss of braking ability and increasing the risk of a crash.

To remedy this issue, Hyundai Translead will notify owners and dealers will inspect the bolts for any that are loose or missing and replace them free of charge. Affected owners can contact Hyundai Translead customer service at 1-819-574-1500 or Meritor at 1-866-668-7221 for more information about the recall, which began on January 19, 2018. The recall number is 17E049.
