KZRV is recalling various 2002-2018 recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. The fire extinguishers may become clogged, preventing them from discharging properly, or they may require excessive force to activate. In certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and render the extinguisher inoperable. If a fire extinguisher does not function properly during a fire, it increases the risk of injury to occupants.
KZRV will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher at no charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Affected consumers should contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153, or Kidde customer service toll free at 1-855-262-3540, or visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information and to obtain a replacement extinguisher.
