What happened

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2017 E300 and E300 4MATIC vehicles because the widescreen instrument cluster software may fail to display information when the vehicle starts up or may reset while driving. When the instrument cluster does not display, drivers cannot see important information such as vehicle speed, which increases the risk of a crash.

MBUSA will notify owners, and authorized dealers will update the instrument cluster display software at no cost. The recall began in late May 2017. Affected owners should contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
