What happened

IH Parts America Inc. is recalling certain CPT Crawler Proven Tech steering tie rod adjusters (model number CPT-Tierod-ADJ) sold individually and as part of assembly kits CPT-S80/800-TIEROD-4 and CPT-S80/800-TIEROD-8 for 1961-1965 International Scout 80 and 1966-1971 International Scout 800, 800A, and 800B vehicles. The tie rod adjusters may have been manufactured with incorrect hardness, which can cause the tie rod to fracture and affect vehicle steering and handling, increasing the risk of a crash.

IH Parts will provide a replacement steering tie rod adjuster free of charge. The recall began on January 27, 2017. Affected consumers should contact IH Parts customer service at 1-530-274-1795 to obtain the replacement part. IH Parts' recall number is 1.

(IH Parts) is recalling certain CPT Crawler Proven Tech Steering tie rod adjusters with Draglink Intersect Holes, model number CPT-Tierod-ADJ, which was sold individually and part of assembly CPT-S80/800-TIEROD-4, CPT-S80/800-TIEROD-8, sold for replacement use on the following makes and models: 1961-65 International Scout 80 and 1966-71 International Scout 800, 800A and 800B. These steering tie rod adjusters may have been manufactured with an incorrect hardness, allowing the tie rod to fracture affecting steering capability.
