Chrysler is recalling certain 2009 Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen vehicles manufactured between January 17, 2007 and December 18, 2008, and 2010 RAM 3500 cab chassis manufactured between September 25, 2009 and February 1, 2010. The driver's frontal air bag inflator in these vehicles may be susceptible to moisture intrusion, which over time could cause the inflator to rupture. If the air bag deploys in a crash, metal fragments from the ruptured inflator could strike the driver or other occupants, potentially causing serious injury or death.
Chrysler will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator at no cost to owners at authorized dealers. The recall began January 11, 2017. Owners should not drive their vehicle until the repair is completed.
