Is my product affected?

2016 BUICK CASCADA

  • Brand BUICK

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

General Motors is recalling certain 2016 Buick Cascada vehicles manufactured between December 1, 2015, and February 24, 2016. These vehicles may have an incorrect convertible roof control module that causes the windows to close automatically when the roof closes and allows the windows to be closed remotely via key fob from distances greater than 11 meters. This creates a safety hazard because the unexpected window closure can increase the risk of injury to passengers and the vehicles do not comply with federal safety standards for power window systems.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. Dealers will replace the incorrect control module with the correct one at no charge to the owner. The recall began on December 1, 2016, and GM's recall number is 16126.

Hazard

If the windows close automatically or can be closed remotely in ways that do not meet all the requirements of FMVSS 118, the unexpected closure can increase the risk of injury to the passengers.

What should I do?

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the CRCM with correct module, free of charge. The recall began on December 1, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is 16126.
