What happened

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2017 Salem and Wildwood recreational trailers manufactured between August 9, 2016, and September 6, 2016. The Federal Placard on these trailers contains incorrect tire information, listing Load Range C tires with 50PSI inflation pressure when the trailers are actually equipped with Load Range D tires that require 65PSI. This incorrect information could lead operators to under-inflate the tires, which may cause sudden tire failure or poor handling and increase the risk of a crash.

To remedy the issue, Forest River will notify owners and dealers will install a corrected Federal Placard at no charge. The recall began on October 27, 2016. Salem owners should contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-1251, and Wildwood owners should contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-533-2165. Forest River's recall number is 27-09082016-0243.
